Episode 23 | Speaking to Children About the 2SLGBTQ+ Community

Show Notes

In another episode within the “Speaking to Children About…” series, I share my journey in journey in speaking to my daughter about the 2SLGBTQ+ community and the importance of her having this knowledge, not only within our family but for our community and the world around her. We cannot preach to children about kindness without teaching them about the importance of acceptance and unconditional love.

This episode is an update from a blog post I wrote when my daughter was 3 years old and the first conversation I had with her about the 2SLGBTQIA community and what it means to be an ally. Now that she is a little older, I continue this work on another level and in more detail. This episode covers some talking points to use when introducing this topic to your child(ren) and serves as education for us parents to be able to speak to our children about this topic from an informed place.
