Episode 14 | Raising A Non-Binary Child

Vida With Christie

Show Notes

On this episode I had the pleasure of speaking with Natasha, who shares with us her experiences raising her non-binary child. We discuss family, culture, parenthood and more in order to break down some of the challenges she has faced throughout her journey. Her child also joined us and gave us some excellent advice for parents, as well as shared a little of their experience as a non-binary child.

It was an honour to speak with Natasha and her child, and I am so grateful they shared some of their time with us. My hopes for this episode is that it offers support for families on a similar journey and educates those who may be interested in learning more on this topic.

Resources

LIBRE – Latin American & Caribbean PARENT support group of LGBTQ children

A safe space to support one another through our child’s journey and our experiences through a cultural lens. As people of colour (POC), our paths are unique and distinct from white folk. Therefore, this space is primarily dedicated to your child, their voice, and you. This space is to share, explore, learn and find the medium of living and retaining our cultural ways while also creating new ones that are centred in our children’s gender-diverse identities.

LIBRE – Latin American & Caribbean Parent Support Group of LGBTQ Children

Remember: As Natasha mentioned in this episode, this is a group exclusively for parents and caregivers of transgender, non-binary, gender fluid, gender exploring, and gender diverse children.

This Instagram profile is managed by Natasha and includes wonderful resources and showcases her and Allpa’s journey as mother and child.
